Is there a really good way to clear acne? Does Proactive really work?

I've got acne since I'm 12, and I'm 23 now. Nothing I tried seem to work. Has anyone effectively gotten rid of acne? Please do share the secrets or products. Is there a really good way to clear acne? Does Proactive really work?
EAT HEALTHY.

also control stress, and read carefully the labels of the stuff you put on your face! make sure that they will not cause allergies or clog pores.

you should really see a doctor. they can reffer you to a dermitologist. Accutane and antibiotics are the best.

i've tried Proactiv before. it's much like the stuff you can find at drugstores only it has 1% EXTRA of benzol peroxide.

most of the people rely on it and have used it for years.

however, prolonged use of benzol peroxide DOESN'T cure acne.

it's a quick fix and can increase your risk of skin cancer. Is there a really good way to clear acne? Does Proactive really work?

Diet Changes to Reduce Acne

Acne is one of the most common skin complaints that affects most people during teenage years but also extends into adult life.

Heredity, stress and hormones influence the appearance of inflamed hair follicles, which result in acne breakouts. Diet changes can be helpful in reducing acne:

Eat more antioxidant-rich foods, including fruits and vegetables.

Include omega-3 fatty acids like wild Alaskan salmon or freshly ground flaxseeds to help reduce and prevent inflammation.

Drink lots of water to keep the skin hydrated and healthy.

Limit processed and refined foods, and opt for whole, healthful foods instead.

Home-made skincare recipe's;

This is recipe is good in removing excess oil in the face and to prevent the growth of pimples and acne.

Materials:

1/3 cup cocoa

3 tsp of heavy cream

1/3 cup of ripe papaya

录 cup honey

3 tsp of oatmeal powder

Procedure:

Mix cocoa and heavy cream in a container. Add the ripe papaya and continue stirring with honey. Mix them thoroughly and add the oatmeal powder. Continue Stirring until it will turn into thick creamy paste. Apply on the face and wait for 10 minutes. Rinse face with lukewarm water. It is safe to do this everyday or use this alternately.
Make sure to wash your face twice a day, more if necessary. My sister didn't have much help with ProActive but she has liked Mary Kay Normal-to-Oily Timewise cleanser and moisturizer. She had bad acne too and it has helped. You can search for a consulatant at their website. They also have a great Acne Treatment Gel that zaps zits quick, and an Oil Mattifier that controls oil for eight hours (she swears by both of those as well). Good luck!
i started having acne at the age of 13, now im 22. and the past few years, it's been horrible. i tried facials, to the extend that i can pay up to a few hundred for 1 session of facial. but it doesn't cure my skin problem. im a girl whereby make-up is a must for me when i step out of my house. i love to make-up. and i use good skin products, mostly shiseido, even my skincare are from shiseido. but nothing can cure my acne.

in desperation, i went to the national skin centre and consulted the professor doctor there. he gave me medicine to take for 2 months. it's called Doxycycline. twice a day, after breakfast and dinner. i've taken it for about 3 weeks now and my skin is now clearer. so much cleaner that i can count that i've only 3 small pimples on my face now. at the same time, he gave me retina gel to apply on my pimples area at night.

during the 1st wk of the medication, my face burst with more pimples. but after the 2nd week, it all went down. and now, it's clearer and clearer.

i would recommend you to see the national skin centre. ultimately, you won't any worser damage to your skin i suppose. take care and all the best!
Here are some REALLY good, and very inexpensive ways to treat most acne at home. Try each method (unless you鈥檙e allergic to the ingredients) until you find one that works best for you. Good luck =) BTW, I know some of these may sound bizarre but try them鈥hat have you got to lose other than the acne!!

1. Put toothpaste on your acne before going to bed. (Make sure it is paste not gel). It should reduce the swelling of acne noticeably.

2. Dab egg whites on your acne and leave on for 20 minutes or overnight. It鈥檚 supposed to pull the infection out of the blemish.

3. Wash acne infected areas twice a day with warm salt water. This reduces oils in the skin and helps to dry the acne up without further agitation.

4. Use ice on acne before going to bed. This works best on pimples that have not yet formed a head. It reduces swelling and helps to prevent scarring.

5. Wash and dab acne with cotton balls that have been soaked in vinegar. Let dry; do not wash off immediately.

6. Place strawberries leaves over your acne and the alkalinity will help to reduce the swelling.
You can buy Panoxyl over the counter at any pharmacy.... Or if it persists then can see your GP and go on a course of antibiotic. If that doesn't work then your GP can refer you to your local dermatology clinic and be put on a Roaccutane (this is what happened to me). It can cause quite a few side effects and it is monitored closely by the Dermatologist.... hope this helps :-)
My wife did a course of antibiotics Accutane couple of years ago and it worked beautifuly.

course is v expensive.. make sure your medical plan covers it......

I think it was either 6 months or 3 months course.
My friend tried proactive and it makes you skin worse before it gets better, but it does get better.
there is a product called'; ketsugo'; from a company called australian bodycare. it worked a treat for my niece!! you can get it from qvc.co.uk if it doesn't work , you can send it back within 30 days and get a refund(less packing and postage) can't say fairer than that!... please don't keep trying to strip any oils away i.e with harsh toners and such, because the more you try to do that, the more the skin will try to replace it by producing more oil! you actually need to Balance your skin. qvc also supply Elemis s.o.s. emergency cream it sorts out hormonal balance.before you apply it warm it in your hands first. anyway you can find it all on the qvc website beauty department and remember everything has a 30 day money back guarantee!! try the ketsugo range great stuff!! good luck hope this helps bye................
